I am a Molecular Biology major going into my third and final year at UC San Diego. My project involves identification of host cell factors important in the propagation and/or development of Trypanosoma cruzi parasite which is involved in Chagas Disease. This approach utilizes CRISPR/Cas 9 to knock out genes within mouse myocyte cell lines.

I am part of the UCSD Faculty Mentor Program 2016-2017, working under the
mentorship of Dr. Jair L. Siqueira-Neto and Laura-Isobel McCall.
