I am an international student from South Korea majoring in Biochemistry and Cell Biology. Flaviviruses, such as Dengue and Zika virus, have been important research subjects to me because I grew up in Singapore where Dengue fever is a serious endemic in Southeast Asia. Therefore, I am participating in research, which focuses on another flavivirus, Zika virus. As an undergraduate student volunteer, I participate in anti-Zika virus drug discovery and perform high throughput screening against Zika virus, under Dr. Jair Lage de Siqueira-Neto.
